Our Baby Boy!

Gareth Charles  --  9 weeks

Gareth Charles was born on February 10th and is 10 weeks old already!  

Some highlights from his first two months of life:

He has already taken his first plane ride!  He traveled 2 hours via plane to Florida to visit his Aunt and Uncle.  He was 8 weeks old and traveled like a pro!

He smiled for the first time at 4 weeks and when we took him to be photographed at 5 weeks the photographer was amazed at how much he smiled; she said she had never gotten smiles during a session from a baby that young!  

He started cooing and talking to us at about 6-7 weeks.  He LOVES watching ceiling fans and looking at anything with a pattern.  He also LOVES music, especially music with a fast beat.  So far his favorite is ..... Miley Cyrus!  Yes, his sister loves Miley Cyrus and he probably heard it quite often in the womb.  Now when it comes on he smiles and coos loudly and kicks his feet and waves his arms wildly!  So cute!

He is an extremely mellow and happy baby.  He wakes up in the morning and after stretching out all the kinks he will open his eyes all the way and when he sees me he gets the biggest grin on his face!  I say good morning and he coos back.  

He has his brother and sister wrapped around his little finger!  They love him and actually fight over who gets to hold him.  Hope it lasts!!

He weighed 7lbs 1 oz at birth and was 19 inches long.  When we left the hospital (on Valentines Day!) he was down to 6lbs 8 oz.  Four days later he was at 7 lbs 2 oz.  At his 3 week check up he was 21 and 1/2 inches and weighed 9 lbs 11 oz!  He is now 10 weeks old and per our scale is about 13 lbs!  His next check up is at 3 months so we'll get official measurements then.  He is wearing 3-6 month clothes.  

Our Nursery is finished!

The baby's room is finished! A very talented friend came over the weekend and painted a tree and some grass along all the wall edges. It turned out beautiful!

Baby Shower!

My husband and a friend surprised me with a baby shower! It was beautiful and my sister flew in from Florida and stayed for a few days which made it even more fun. I'm so thankful for all of my wonderful friends who came to help us celebrate our new addition to our family. It was an such a surprise and it was absolutely lovely! All of the beautiful decorations and table settings are courtesy of my friend. It was held at her lovely house and as usual she outdid herself. The woman knows how to throw a party! I had a shower with my first child but it was totally different. We had it at a place that held tea parties. It was a lot of fun but this time around we had all of the fun games; like guess what's in the diaper and name that baby food. My friend has a post on her blog entitled Surprise!
